A year late, previously forgotten review for our good friends Agent Ribbons

Agent Ribbons - Your Love Is The Smallest Doll

1. Your Love Is The Smallest Doll
2. Bird In The Mirror
3. The Taxidermist

This new 7" from Agent Ribbon's kicks ass pretty hard. It's a big step up musically from the quirky guitar and drum duo. Tons of instruments have been added including organ, toy piano, xylophone, and a brand new member playing the violin & cello as well as contributing some background vocals. At one point there's an awesome violin tremolo part that requires being rewound about 60 times or more that creeps up behind a swell, total goosebump central. The album reminds me of some sort of carnival gypsy music from space but with singers whose voices remain nostalgically human. They've continued with their love themes but have a somewhat pessimistic view this time around though the music itself is still bright, shining, and pleasing to the ears. Definitely a good transition period for these Sacramento humans. Don't miss them live if they're stopping by your area! Can't wait to hear what they do next. - Rev. Bangdalotron
